To fill deep scratches or chips, apply several coats a few minutes apart.

Application

Shake can vigorously for one minute after the mixing ball begins to rattle. If mixing ball fails to rattle do not strike can. Contact rust-oleum. Shake often during use. Hold can upright 10-16" from the surface and spray in a steady back-and-forth motion, slightly overlapping each stroke. Keep the can the same distance from the surface. Keep the can in motion while spraying. Apply two or more light coats a few minutes apart to avoid drips and runs. Do not use near an open flame.

Dry And Recoat Times

Dry and recoat times are based on 70°f and 50% relative humidity. Allow more time at cooler temperatures. Dries to touch in 15 min, to handle in 1-2 hr and fully dry in 24 hr. Recoat within 1 hour or after 24 hr. If a topcoat is desired, use a latex coating.

Clogging

If valve clogs, twist and pull off spray tip and rinse it in a solvent such as mineral spirits. Do not stick a pin or other objects into the stem

Cleanup

Clean the valve immediately after use by turning can upside down and depressing the spray button for 3-5 seconds. Clean up wet paint with xylene or mineral spirits. Properly discard empty container. Do not burn or place in the home trash compactor.

Surface Preparation

Remove all dirt, grease, oil, salt, and chemical contaminants by washing the surface with a commercial detergent, or another suitable cleaning method. Rinse with freshwater and allow to thoroughly dry. Remove loose paint and rust with a wire brush or sandpaper.

Warning

If you scrape, sand or remove old paint from any surface, you may release lead paint dust. Lead is toxic. Exposure to lead dust can cause serious illness, such as brain damage; especially in children. Pregnant women should also avoid exposure. Wear a niosh approved respirator to control lead exposure. Clean up carefully with a hepa vacuum and a wet mop.
