General-Purpose, Clear RTV Indoor/Outdoor Sealant

Permatex Clear RTV Silicone Adhesive Sealant is a versatile sealant that seals, bonds, repairs, mends, and secures a wide range of materials, including glass, metal, plastics, fabric, vinyl, weather stripping, and vinyl tops. It can be applied to both horizontal and vertical surfaces.

  • Waterproofing
  • Flexibility
  • Resists aging, weathering, and thermal cycling
  • Non-sagging
  • Easy application
  • Superior adhesion to various surfaces
  • Waterproof and insulating
  • Unaffected by vibration
  • Non-flammable and non-toxic
Suggested Applications
  • Automobile: Door frames, electrical connections, vinyl tops, seams, and roofs (not recommended for engine gasket or electrical connection applications)
  • Heavy Duty: Windshields
  • Marine: Windshields, hatches, seams, and roofs
Directions
  • Clean and dry all surfaces thoroughly.
  • Cut the nozzle to the desired bead size, apply the sealant to one surface, and assemble immediately.
  • For optimal adhesion, clamp the bonded surfaces for 20-30 minutes or until the silicone is firm.
  • Trim excess sealant after curing with a sharp knife.
  • Allow the silicone to "skin" and become tack-free within 1 hour. For full cure and maximum strength under normal conditions, allow 24 hours. In colder or drier conditions, extended curing time may be necessary.
  • Note that most paint will not adhere to silicone. Paint the surface first, then apply the sealant.
  • Replace the cap after use.
  • Clean uncured silicone from hands, tools, and clothing with Permatex Fast Orange Hand Cleaner.
Specifications
  • Size: 3 Oz
  • Temperature Range: -75°F to 400°F (-59°C to 204°C)
