Red Bluff & Klamath Falls Bull Sale

Grange Co-op’s tradition of attending the Red Bluff Bull & Gelding Sale feels ever more heartening now that the buzz among several community members and visiting out-of-towners is about our newest store. While the opening of the Redding location is still on the horizon, we have always felt welcomed by the community of Red Bluff and the greater Tehama County, and the Bull Sale is no exception. This year, the weather was unseasonably but blissfully warm, and it helped encourage over 30,000 visitors to peruse the sale and ‘one of the largest trade shows in the West,' which Grange Co-op is proud to be a part of.

But for us, the Red Bluff trip is only one-half of the story; our crew trades trailers and swaps associates for the Klamath Falls Bull & Heifer Sale only a week later. Likewise, this traditional vending opportunity is a way for Grange Co-op and our Klamath Falls associates to connect with community members outside the store and also meet new folks who come from far and wide to this event attended by thousands.

Next year’s dates are already on the calendar, and we hope to see you there!

Relief Angels and SoHumane Adoptions

It has been a busy year for adoptions, and we’re not even a quarter of the way through! Grange Co-op has proudly continued our partnership with both SOHumane of Jackson County and Relief Angels of Klamath Falls, hosting a total of three separate adoption events this year.

In total, over 30 dogs have found their ‘furever’ homes, and several more have been placed in foster care. It’s no secret that our local shelters and non-profits face a huge task in finding homes for the large number of animals under their care. We are excited to welcome these wonderful organizations into our stores, and we hope that our generous community will not only continue supporting their efforts but also discover the joy and love that might inspire them to consider adopting a furry friend.

California FFA Advanced Leadership Academy

Being a Future Farmer involves much more than just raising a project animal. As any FFA student will tell you, it’s about developing leadership skills, building a strong work ethic, and preparing for a future in agriculture. One of those professional development opportunities is the Advanced Leadership Academy—a series of team-building exercises lasting multiple days, happening across the state, and inviting chapters from all over their respective regions to participate.

Grange Co-op was invited to table during the Advanced Leadership Academy days in Redding, where hundreds of students from all over Northern and Central California were in attendance. We met kids from all over, including several whom we’ve supported in local Junior Livestock Auctions as well. It’s great to engage with these incredible youth as they develop their careers and education in not only agriculture but also professional development and leadership.
